Tianjin is located in the northeast of north China plain in the haihe river basin, the center of the downstream bohai gulf of bohai sea, the east north to yanshan mountain. It is about 120 kilometers from our capital Beijing and one of four municipalities, one of the biggest coastal open city.

In July 2006, the state council further clarified the location of tianjin urban construction. It will become the prosperous and civilized and ecological northern port city.

The binhai new area in the eastern coastal region including three administrative district, TangGu, HanGu and DaGang .There are developed ,boned zone, Tianjin port and Dong Li, part of JinNan district .The planning area is 2270 sq.km and the coastline is up to 153km.By the end of 2008,the residents population of Binhai new area is  202.88 million.

Abundant oil , gas , sea salt and 1214 undeveloped soil resource all reveal to the world the excellence of development .It has huge potential compared to the other region.

Tianjin Economic-Technological

 Development Area (TEDA)

 lies at the crossroads of major

traffic links within the country.

It is easily accessible by

Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Highway

 fromBeijing (130 kilometers) and Tianjin (40 kilometers). It takes one hour and a half to drive from Beijing to TEDA if one uses

 this highway. The bullet-shaped high-speed locomotive train, which is currently commuting between Beijing and Tianjin, is the most advanced of its kind in China. TEDA is 180 kilometers (2 hours) away from Beijing Capital International Airport, 36 kilometers (45 minutes) from Tianjin International Airport and 4 kilometers (10 minutes) from Tianjin New Port. Substantially, TEDA is also easily accessible by 9 trunk railways and 10 trunk roads and highways from the inner parts of China, including Highways of Shanhaiguan Pass-Guangzhou and Beijing-Fuzhou, both of which are quite close to TEDA. A metropolis at the eastern tip of Eurasia, Tianjin is also served by many highways. In short, easy accessibility gives TEDA equally easy access to the major markets of the country.

Form the perspective of the distances from various infrastructures

 to TEDA, Tianjin New Port, the closest port, is 5 kilometers

 (6 minutes) away by railway and 2 kilometers away (6 minutes)

by road. Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Highway, the closest road, is

 immediately adjacent to TEDA. Tianjin International Airport, the

closest airport, is 38 kilometers (30 minutes) away. Tianjin Railway Station, the closest of all railway stations, is 50 kilometers (42 minutes) away. Tianjin Development Zone Customs is the closest customs.

Tianjin New Port Located 3 kilometers away from TEDA, Tianjin New Port is the biggest cargo port in the northern part of China. Annually,it can handle over 100 million tons of cargo in 2 million standardized containers, and that annual throughput in terms of

the number of containers is expected to be up to 5 million by the year 2010. Served by sea links of over 300 ports in 160 countries of the world, the port is a dominant import and export channel for the northeastern and northern parts of the country.

Logistics and Customs Services The Customs of TEDA is executing official customs transfer agreements with Tianjin Airport Customs and Beijing Airport Customs. According to the agreements, air cargo can be directly cleared within TEDA: imported items can be directly transported into TEDA and get cleared, while exported items, after being binned and cleared within the TEDA, can be directly put onboard aircraft. For companies that have a lot of import and export businesses, TEDA can consider providing "Green Channel" services to facilitate their customs clearances.
